Google Font Preview Tool

When I joined Google I also started working on the user experience of Google Fonts (then called Google Web Fonts API) as a 20% project. I soon scaled my involvement to 100% for the initial launch of the MVP as well as version two.

To use our fonts web designers needed a way to try out type before using it in their project. For this reason also created (designed and developed) the Font Preview tool. The tool let users select a font face, edit the preview text, provided the embed code snippet and also showcased some of the new functionality that CSS3 provided when using web fonts.

My announcement of the launch of the tool was posted on the Google Developers blog.
